The inception of the Asian American Group began 1993. The Asian American Group "concept" started as a federation of Asian Community leaders.

Through the years the ideas have evolved but the true nature of its concepts has become the mantra of President Mike Vaswani. "Unity is our Strength and Priority" Mike Vaswani has unified the Asian Communities into a cohesive blend of one voice.

The Asian American Group strides to establish dialogue between all ethnic groups in the Las Vegas community and to encourage a better understanding and appreciation of cultural diversity. We promote

• Voter education, encourage voter participation and being politically involved
• To create alliances with communities outside the Asian realm
• To incoporate our message of unity throughout

To fulfill its mission, AAG strives to strengthen the unity between government and its citizens to enable a foundation of unity and knowledge for the Asian community in Nevada.

Under the visionary leadership of Mike Vaswani and his energetic Executive Board he has brought the Koreans, Filipinos, Indians, Sri Lankans, Chinese, Malaysians,Thai, Laotians, Vietnamese, Japanese, Indonesians and Middle Easterners to the table to discuss their concerns and their dreams for a stronger productive Las Vegas.

"Unity Is Our Strength and Priority". AAG fosters the success and development of all Asian Americans in our community. It has achieved this great strength by uniting all these US nationalities of Asian origin together with a common goal to show that it has a strategic plan to make the Asian Voice heard in cultural circles, social gatherings and most of all in federal, state, country and city political hierarchy.
